Dr. John D. Pigott is an acclaimed Professor of Clinical Surgery at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans.  Dr. Pigott has over 23 years of cardiothoracic surgical experience with more than 16 years of practice at Tulane Medical Center. He has a broad base of knowledge and experience in all aspects of cardiothoracic disease, treatment and surgery, making him one of the best heart surgeons in New Orleans
 
As a past Chief of Staff of Tulane Medical Center and current Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Pigott has a comprehensive understanding not only of disease processes and surgical therapies, but also of hospital procedure, accreditation and standards of care.  His patients benefit from this unique perspective.

Dr. Pigott is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Tennessee School of Medicine.  He completed a Surgery Residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham and a Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency at the University of Pennsylvania. He is certified and re-certified in Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery.

Dr. Pigott is an active member of numerous professional societies, including the American Heart Association, the American Medical Association, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the Southern Surgical Association.
